About

Hi, I'm Tori Gilchrist,  a performer, composer, and music educator based in Denton, Texas.  I've been an active musician in the DFW area for over a decade. I currently spend my time writing and performing original works, and sharing my love of music through teaching multiple instruments and crafts. I'm an experienced performer in many genres, both in solo and group settings;  I've been writing original music for years and compose commissioned works for clients; I offer private lessons for several instruments in-person and online.

In 2022, I graduated from the prestigious University of North Texas College of Music with a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies. I was a member of the Grammy-nominated UNT Jazz Singers and performed with incredible artists like Kurt Elling and Sinne Eeg.  I was a feature vocalist in the contemporary music ensemble as well as several small groups and jazz combos. I gained experience in performance, composition, arranging, music theory, music history, vocal pedagogy, recording techniques, and more. Before college, I went to nationally acclaimed arts magnet school Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. I studied vocal styles of choral music, jazz, musical theater, pop, opera, and singer-songwriter, all while developing a deep appreciation of art in all of its forms.

Music

Songwriting is my biggest passion. My original music draws influence from folk, R&B, and indie rock. I've written over a dozen compositions, many of which are in the process of being recorded and published. Check out my social media platforms for updates on music releases!
